Ok, so I ordered 13 more mini macs on top of my original order of 2.
So you are saying, Dennis, you are crazy to be buying 15 mini macs, where will you put the monitors. Well, the 13 new ones are going to be completely headless. I'll administer them from the headed one using the standard unix remote adminstration tools.
I am buliding a supercomputing cluster. The Macs make it really easy to do plug-and-play supercomputering with XGrid.
What's the point? Well I am going to start some 3D animation rendering for one thing. Each Mini Mac can put out 8 Gigaflops, so I am expecting to have around 100 Gigaflops of pure unadulterated floating point processing power. Does someone need some encryption broken or some genomes sequenced? Not a problem! Looking to compete with Pixar animation studios? We can do that too, my friends. Building a nuclear bomb and need some simulations? Got it all covered here!
This while you suckers are wasting away on your pathetically outdated sub-gigaflop machines from the last century.
Pripomína mi to veľmi dobrý článok o Google stroji s 100.000 jednoduchými počítačmi... Ak ste to ešte nečítali tak do toho!
